I have a question about the recipe "Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Strata" from Janis_. Do you need to cook the bacon before using in the casserole?

I would pre-cook it, as I don't think it would cook well in the casserole, plus it would exude all that grease into the dish. If you are using the prosciutto, then I wouldn't pre-cook it.
