I have a fried chicken recipe I want to make next week. It calls for two teaspoons of cayenne pepper and 1/2 cups hot sauce for 4 lb. of chicken. Cpould this possibly be right?

Your instincts are right.
Bouillon mix is usually loaded with salt.
If you want to use that for flavor, don't add more salt to batter mix.
Remember, you can always ADD salt later if needed (e.g , when tasting at table),
But it is very hard sometimes impossible to REMOVE it.
