A question about a recipe: Mom's Garlic-Rubbed Roast Filet of Beef with Mushroom Sauce

I have a question about the recipe "Mom's Garlic-Rubbed Roast Filet of Beef with Mushroom Sauce" from drbabs. Has anyone made this mushroom sauce (or any similar version) where you hold out the sauteed/browned mushrooms and add them at the end after the sauce has reduced? I find the mushrooms end up loosing their appeal when they are reducing with the wine/port/broth yet I never see a recipe that holds off adding the mushrooms.
