A question about a recipe: David Lebovitz' Rum-Butterscotch Banana Cream Pie

I have a question about the recipe "David Lebovitz' Rum-Butterscotch Banana Cream Pie" from Kate on the Lake. Although there is 3/4 tsp fine sea salt in the ingredients, it is not used in the recipe. (I assume this is not the kosher salt he refers to.) Does it get used?

When there's an error or omissions in a recipe, look for the same or similar elsewhere.
Banana cream pie may use a little salt in the custard (often for contrast in sweets).
Others use less... 1/4 or 1/2 tsp.
