I have a question about the recipe "Tennessee Jam Cake" from Posie (Harwood) Brien. Direction indicates using three 9in cake pans. So, I need to make 3 cakes? If so can i make them separately?
It makes 3 layers -- you could use just two 9" pans and divide the batter evenly between each and then slice each one for a four layer cake if you want! You could also make this as a 9" x 13" sheet cake.
