A question about a recipe: Cabbage e Pepe

I have a question about the recipe "Cabbage e Pepe" from Sarah Jampel. What technique do I use to prep the cabbage for this so that it comes out in long, thin strands?

Personally, I'd use a mandolin. If you don't have one cut cabbage in half and cut full, thin slices.
