I'm using the Chocolate Whisky Lava Cake recipe from the Booze Cakes cookbook, in case it matters!

Yes!  Depending how far in advance you need to make the batter, you'll probably need to refrigerate it, so allow enough time for it to come to room temp before you need to bake it.  Have a great party!
