Has anyone else had trouble serving the cake?

This cake is DELICIOUS and beautiful, but I had trouble serving it. The parchment got stuck on the cake server, and the pieces fell apart and stuck to the server and knife when I moved them to the plates. Does anyone have any suggestions for more successful serving? Thank you!

Although I have not made this since last winter (I recall sprinkling the whipped cream with crushed candy canes.) I recall that is more soufflé than cake and I think I portioned and plated with a spoon and cake server.
It is a family favourite that has been requested often!
