What is the best way to freeze cooked beans?

I have read suggestions to freeze cooked beans along with the cooking liquid. Another recommendation was to drain and then freeze the beans. Is one way preferable over the other? Thanks

I drain, cool and put them in a zipper freezer bag and stick them in the freezer, flat for easy storage. I add them frozen to soup or chili. If I plan to put them on a salad, I thaw in the fridge overnight.
