A question about a recipe: Scottish Toffee

I have a question about the recipe "Scottish Toffee" from Lizthechef.
Do you recommend light brown sugar or dark brown? Thanks, can't wait to make this.

Either would be good but, I think if the recipe intended dark brown, it would have specified.
