When there's nothing in the fridge, Joans on Third's curried chickpeas: sauté an onion till brown. Add a few dashes of cumin, turmeric, chile flakes, and coriander. Sauté until spices are fragrant. Add two cans of garbanzo beans, juice from half a lemon, and a handful of cilantro leaves. Simmer for five minutes, then salt and pepper. Eat now or move it to the fridge -- it gets better with time.
