A [email protected]&k-yeah single lady Friday dinner (stick with me for a sec): Pick up skirt steak at the butcher (tell 'em "just for me"). Throw in a ziplock with olive oil, cumin, pressed garlic, lime juice, orange juice, S&P. Put in the fridge while you go for a run. When you get back, immediately dispense a solid pour of red wine from your trusty box. Then cut up some potatoes, toss with olive oil, lots of smoked paprika, and S&P. Put in a 400-ish degree oven. Reluctantly, but dutifully, go stretch post-run. When potatoes are nearly done, turn oven on broil and broil steak about 4 minutes a side but wish you done it a little less because when you take it out you KNOW it's medium-well (ugh). Also during this time your roommate has come home and asked if there was a fire (oh... it is kind of smokey in here...) At some point in your wine-addled state, you've blitzed some cilantro and mint with lime juice and garlic and EVOO for a fake chutney/chimichurri. Serve everything with a basic-bitch kale salad (thinly chopped, tossed with lemon juice, olive oil, and pecorino romano, showered in toasted, finely chopped pecans). TGIF.
