My mom's wonton soup is unbelievably delicious and since I've moved out, I've done my best to learn from her. The best part of this dish is that you can freeze the wontons once they're wrapped and throw them in a pot for a quick meal anytime!

The filling: ground pork, Napa cabbage, grated or minced ginger, chopped green onion, one chicken bouillon (seriously), soy sauce, and a little salt.

Wrap the wontons in the square shaped wrappers. Store bought works great! Wrap them by folding them in half diagonally, sealing with a little water around the inside edge. Pull the two opposite points together, place one above the other, and seal as well.

I like to cook mine in a mixture of half chicken broth half water, but you can use whatever type of broth (or really just water) you'd like. Bring that to a boil and add your wontons. Add about a cup of cold water to the pot each time it boils - do this three times. I also usually throw some enoki mushrooms and spinach into the pot before the last boil for some extra veggies.

Serve with soy sauce, black vinegar, chili oil, and chili flakes and enjoy ?

We love soups esp. wontons, this is a treat. Regards to your mum. We fill it with spinach and spring onion pre cooked and used as stuffings in wonton packing. Than we make minced meat with only onions, chili flakes, and garlic a bit dryish.
Yoghurt dressing with lime zest, salt, pepper and crushed garlic. So first green wontons, then dressing and minced dish as toppings. It's Mantuh - Afghan dish of our region.
