Dreaming of summer and espresso granita …
Strong, sweetened espresso is chilled and then put into the freezer in a shallow pan. Mix it up with a fork once it starts solidifying around the edges (after an hour or so) turning it the consistency of a slushy; freeze again and keep loosening / grating up and re-freezing until all the espresso is turned into icy flakes.
Top with unsweetened lightly whipped cream and call it breakfast, dessert, or your favourite new afternoon pick-me-up.
