Chinese Tonic Soup: Pork Bone Broth with Fresh ArrowRoot & Jumbo Carrot. Upset stomach from that Spring Break resort food so Arrowroot will soothe the excesses you've indulged in. Buy everything at Asian supermarket: Pork neck bones, fresh arrowroot, jumbo carrots. I blanch and then wash well the Pork Neck bones. Stuff all the washed, peeled, chunked arrowroot and carrots in a Yixing Clay Slowcooker and set for 3.5 hrs. Walk away and come back to skim the fat and any scum off with a fine mesh sieve. Add some salt to taste. I leave the soup on the counter on "warm" setting until the whole pot of soup is finished by the family. The pork meat from the bones fall off and you can eat it but the jumbo carrots would have lost all its flavour. You can eat the arrowroot too but it's starchy. I personally don't eat any of the ingredients other than the meat and broth. I sip it like a tea during the day and have it prior to a meal. Overnight, the broth will darken. You can refrigerate the whole thing and skim off the congealed fat if you wish.
