In a crockpot, combine cinnamon, cracked cardamom pods, candied ginger, grated fresh ginger, grated whole nutmeg with water. Cook until water is flavored. Straight through cheese cloth and return water to clean crock pot. Add sugar and cook until desired consistency (will be thinner when hot). If syrup starts to crystallize, set it in a warm water bath in a crockpot until all the crystals dissolve.
