Spicy tamarindo candy..
Remove shells and strings from tamarind pods. If you have a lot of time on your hands you can remove the seeds too, but it's extremely tedious (traditionally the seeds are left in). Add water to fruit and cook in order to break it down. Add more water if needed. Once a thick paste consistency is reached add sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper to taste. Mix well. Turn heat up a little until a boil is reached then remove from heat. Cool down enough to be able to handle. Form into balls about the size of a quarter, with the palms of your hand, and place on parchment paper. To finish, roll the balls in a mixture of sugar and cayenne.
