Sweet honey cornbread (with dates and almonds). 1 c Flour + 1 c cornflour + 3 ts. baking powder + pinch of salt + 2/3 c honey + 1 egg + 1/2 c milk and 1/2 c buttermilk + 1/3 c oil + 1/2 c chopped dates and some almonds to garnish.
9 inch cake pan + 30 minutes oven 400 degrees.

The moment I saw your recipe I knew that would probably be very close to the incredibly good cornbread that I had at the restaurant. I cannot wait to try it. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Actually when I lived near Laguna Beach, California, I went to a restaurant called Marie Calendars often with friends. They served an amazing cornbread there that this recipe reminds me of, and they served fresh honey butter with it. This looks like it would be awesome with fresh honey butter on the side. Fresh out of the oven and warm, we enjoyed the honey butter to spread over the cornbread. It was so delicious ! The cornbread came with an order of their Chili, We could also purchase the cornbread to take home. Soon we saw their cornbread in a mix that sold at local grocery stores, or already prepared in frozen in the frozen food section with the honey butter included.

Ahh! I thought that your recipe includes "honey butter" (you have a of ingredients there that we don't have here in South America! So I thought that that was a new one!) I ate this cornbread with butter and honey and it war heavenly!! It's great too with agave nectar
