Onions in gravy with chunks of white crust bread during a Game of Thrones feast last weekend! Recipe from GoT official companion cookbook "A Feast Of Ice and Fire"
In a pot toss 7 quartered-pearl-onions with a tbsp of honey, a tbsp of butter and a fresh sprig of your favorite savory herb (I used a mixture of thyme and rosemary). Cook for about ten minutes or until your onions are golden, stirring not to burn.
Add ⅓ cup of apple cider (at three splashes to heat gradually). Sprinkle 1 tbsp of flour on top and mix until fully incorporated.
Add 3 cups of beef broth and about 9 whole pearl onions, cook for at least 5 minutes, then reduce the heat and let simmer until desired consistency is reached.
Season with salt and pepper and bon appetite! ❣
