CORRECTION: the recipe above calls for 1 1/2 c. of filtered water

NOT!!! 2 1/2 c.

Noticed my mistake as I was mixing more practice doughs last night ....thinking, "this isn't looking right?????"

Yay!

I'm gonna post a photo of what my "starter" looks like now...and if I can, the two links that i used to guide me the most in beginning and growing my starter...you can get lost in the labyrinth of information out there about "starters" lol

Good luck and enjoy your journey!!!

Dirty,
let me tell you...lol I don't consider myself much of a "baker". Foodie? Check. Home cook? Check. But, never ventured much into baking, ESPECIALLY bread!?!!

Saw Netflix's "Cooked" (great series!!) a few weeks ago and became obsessed with the "air" installment. I had NO idea about growing "wild" yeast, the fermentation process etc...and the science experiment began :) for me, the most challenging aspect of all this is the "starter". I think I've finally got my "pet" in a good place and we're beginning our bread baking groove.

Got two more trial loafs with this recipe planned for Saturday to share with friends :)

The loaf above was inhaled by my co-workers.

Try it!!!! Pursue your dream(s)!!!
