Birthday party preparations to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday . . . Pink Lady Strawberry Cake adapted from #smitten kitchen. I use all of Deb's ingredients but make it like a traditional cake -- creaming butter and sugar, adding half of egg whites and strawberry purée, then alternating adding dry ingredients with milk. I finish with beating the rest of the egg whites into soft peaks and adding them into the batter. Cake is finished with lemon and cream cheese frosting, cutting back on the sugar. I tried to mimic funfetti sprinkle decorating on the sides. Chocolate and jelly bellies provide the finishing touches, just because everything is better with chocolate and jelly bellies!
