French bread casserole. Layer bread in a casserole dish between sprinkles of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and a tiny bit of salt. Cover in egg and milk. Top with almonds. Adapt as preferred and with what's on hand. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes (dry is toasty great). Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with mascarpone sweetened with sugar and cinnamon.
