Foolproof blondies: Melt 1 stick butter until browned, cool. Stir into 1 c packed brown sugar. Mix in 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla. Add 1 c flour and pinch salt. Mix in a handful of goodies (this time, slivered almonds, pistachios, white chocolate and semisweet chocolate chips). Bake at 350 in an 8x8 for 25 minutes.
