Quick pickled radishes + cucumbers
Slice 1 cucumber as thinly as possible, put in a bowl with some salt and a few dill sprigs and let stand for a while. Slice a few radishes thinly. Combine 1 1/2 cup water + 1/2 cup white wine vinegar + 1 cup sugar + 4-5 allspice berries. Heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Rinse the cucumbers, squeeze all the water out, and toss them in a jar with the radishes and the picking liquid. Let it cool at room temperature and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
