Oatmeal with fried apples
Make oatmeal how you like it.
Slice and core one large Marlene Apple.
In a large saucepan melt a gob of butter. Add sliced apple and a scant tablespoon of Demerara sugar. Toss to coat then simmer without water until slightly browned and soft. Add cinnamon to taste, toss, cover and steam off heat for 3-4 minutes.
Portion apples into bowls, add oatmeal and enjoy!
We also use a dollop of vanilla bean Greek yogurt on top.
