The same colleague who gave me the (not)recipe for cilantro chicken gave me this (not)recipe for Indian meatballs which uses the same spice mix (cumin, coriander, ginger, cayenne, turmeric).
Start by sautéing chopped onion in a little oil, then add spice mix and sauté a few minutes longer. Add a large can of puréed tomatoes and let simmer. Meanwhile, process a small bunch of cilantro (stems and all) and combine with 1 lb. ground beef or pork, garlic powder, salt, and garam masala. Make tiny meatballs and drop into the simmering tomato sauce. (They stay intact if you resist the temptation to stir the sauce while they cook.) When meatballs are done, add a little cream and lemon juice to taste. Serve over rice or pasta. #weeknightdinner
