These were a huge hit with both adults and kids last night: Sour Dough Crackers made from sourdough discard, a recipe from the King Arthur website. 1:1 ratio discard to flour, then work in butter and salt, roll out thin. Prick with fork, topped with flaked salt, a touch of sugar, cut, and bake (350 degrees F). Served with hummus. I didn't add the optional herbs (kept it simple for the kids), but the ideas are endless. Other additions I thought might work: Chopped nuts with chopped dried cranberries or sour cherries; Parmesan or other strong cheese with diced rind from preserved lemon; curry, chile, dried mango; chopped scallions and sesame seeds. Chilli with grated rind from lime; miso and nori.....
