chicken rice porridge (aka jook, aka congee). boil some water and add bone-in chicken thighs, scallions, ginger, and garlic. remove chicken when cooked and set aside. add rice and bring to a boil. lower heat and simmer. stir from time to time until it gets thiiiiiiiiiiick. remove previous ingredients and add chicken back. serve garnished with chopped scallion, sesame oil, white pepper to taste. great for when you're sick ? or wildly hungover ?
