For those of you without an ice cream maker, Food52's #genius strawberry sorbet also works as a granita.

Modifications: I added 1/4 cup of strawberry liqueur (to help with the texture) and a pinch of salt (to brighten things up) to the base, and stirred the mixture every hour or so with a fork.
