This is my new favorite snack. (Thanks to Renee Erickson on Food52!)

Gently warm some olive oil and a few sprigs of rosemary or sage in a cast iron pan. Toss in a few pitted dates, and sauté them on medium-low heat. Careful! They burn quickly, so keep a close eye on them! Drizzle with what will feel like too much flaky sea salt.

Serve with some bread and cheese! All I had was pita and Gouda, but in the future I will definitely try them with Greek yogurt and honey or a fresh baguette and some ricotta.
