Let's make snails! My mom made them for us as kids and I've been using leftover bits of pie dough to make cinnamon/sugar snails ever since. I save leftover pie dough, store it in the freezer then thaw when I have enough (and a craving) for something small and sweet. Roll out the dough into a long rectangle, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, roll up and cut into small pieces. I put them on a parchment lined baking sheet, pop them in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 12-15 minutes. They are just the right size for a bit of morning, afternoon or evening sweetness and always disappear into the mouth of anyone passing through my kitchen.

I grew up with the same tradition, good memories, I add finely chopped pecans or walnuts if I have them
