Merging all my food pasts/influences into one chicken-and-dumpling-equse dish: my now-Hawaii based immediate family, Middle Eastern extended family, and my Southern surrogate family.

Roasted chicken stock seasoned with lemon and thyme, fortified with fresh carrots, celery, and onion, and simmered for 15-20 minutes until added veggies are tender. I then dropped in fluffy buttermilk dumplings seasoned with parsley/chive/ginger/salt/pepper, and covered and boiled for another 15 minutes.

Extra cracked pepper and a sprinkle of salt are a must.
