Woke up sick & trying to get back up before July 4th. Inspired by boosted jook (see link) and working with some very meager fridge supplies, I simmered leftover rice in miso broth for around 45 mins until porridge-y. While the rice thickened, I cooked down red onion, garlic, and shredded new potatoes with s+p and turmeric. Needed more comfort, so also tossed sliced shallots and garlic in cornstarch and fried them until crispy. Topped with basil and tamari.
