EmilyC offered a zippy way to pump up your cherry ?s:

Combine equal parts chopped basil leaves and kosher or sea salt. Using a sharp knife, finely mince the basil, smearing the salt and basil with the back of your knife a few times. Toss your quickie basil-salt with cherry tomatoes, and let sit for about 15 to 30 minutes at room temperature. Serve!
