OK, admittedly this is a full-on recipe from our Baking cookbook (link below) for Blueberry Cream Torte, when our creative director Kristen was demoing it at the Miele Experience Center in Scottsdale this week, it led to a deep conversation with the crowd about all the fruits that would work well in the topping: strawberries (confirmed), other berries of all kinds, cherries, even peaches and other stone fruit. The only requirement is that you cook down a sauce out of 2 cups' worth of the fruit, sweetening and lemoning to taste, then fold in another 2 cups of fresh stuff, so the sauce has a good mix of texture and bright flavors.
