Basic rosemary simple syrup for cocktails and anything else you can dream up.

Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of sugar and a handful of chopped fresh rosemary. Stir over heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let sit for at least 30 minutes, but preferably an hour. Strain and refrigerate.
