Charred okra....inspired by (Not) Recipes. Served with hummus, which did not make it into this photo. My local farmers market has a stand filled with okra, multiple varieties of beans and basil, so I'm trying all to see how I can use them in different ways. I've baked the okra with olive oil on high heat and yesterday tried charring. Both delicious-just add salt and pepper. I've found small okra is tender, larger ones not so much.
