this admittedly looks like a questionable and terribly basic pizza attempt. bear with me for a minute...

if i can't cook for someone, i cannot love them. (or, perhaps more accurately, i cannot express my love properly.) so when two vegetarians entered my life a few years ago and quickly became two of my favorite humans walking this planet, i had to start expanding my plant-based repertoire. thus, baby's first homemade pizza crust, topped with vegan pepperoni!

clearly, i absolutely need major shaping and stretching practice with this dough. it's KAF's six-day, no knead recipe, baked on top of an overturned cast iron skillet. the flavor and texture is excellent, and i made sure to leave a thick outer edge because it's the only part of pizza that i really like. but, the real work to be done will be further building upon MinimalistBaker's very tasty vegan pepperoni recipe (link below). i'm looking for that deep red color! ❤️

The King Arthur crust is really good, no?! I often think pepperoni has quite an unusual red/orange colour. Look forward to seeing how to achieve.

Ooh, I gotta try making this "pepperoni". Thanks for sharing!

ah, you're welcome! it's only fair-- your posts inspired my adventures with the KAF crust! 😊 let me know if you're able to get the pepperoni to stay a red color on the second bake! I think temperature or the tofu brand I was using may be the discoloration culprit.
