Fig Pop Tart! I've loved pop tarts since I was a little girl and once I saw Flo Braker's fig pop tart recipe in the San Francisco Chronicle a few years ago, I was hooked. Flo wrote the Baking Column for the Chronicle for many years as well as three cookbooks on baking everything yummy. We have a brown turkey fig tree in our front yard that is very happy this year and producing lots of figs. You make a quick fig jam and a easy to roll out cream cheese crust. Top with a lemon glaze and the humble pop tart goes to a new level of deliciousness. Love fig season.

The recipe is a bit long (but easy) and is online if you search for fig pop tart, or Flo Braker.

Hope my fig trees are happy to produce lots of figs this year. So far we only eat them fresh, not enough to make jam
