This (not)recipe is my grandmother's.
Put eggs from the refrigerator in a pot covered with cold water and bring to a boil covered, a soft rolling boil. Set the timer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave in the pot on the stove for another 5 minutes. Put in ice water to cool. If your eggs are older they will peel easier, it's true. But older means a week, maybe. They will never, ever have a green ring.
