Old fashioned pickled crab apples

Sorry re lack of detail. Basically. 2 pounds of crab apples washed with stem kept. 1 and 3/4 cups of cider vinegar. 1 & 1/2 cups of water. 3 cups of sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves 1 inch sliced knob of ginger. 2 cinnamon sticks Make syrup by bringing to boil then add crab apples simmer gently for about 14 to 15 mins let cool and cap and refrigerate they are delicate but are excellent with rough farmhouse pates,cold meat etc. Enjoy. A variation that I like is by substituting the cinnamon for cardamom hope that helps
