i'm a crust-lover. for me, the whole point and purpose of pie is delivering buttery, flaky layers to my mouth. just a streak of filling is all i need. i am officially converted, forever, to the glory of the handpie.
i got my dough together on thursday, made the handpies on friday, and froze a couple unbaked ones for this morning. happy to report these are even better when baked directly from frozen, in a 425F oven for 21 minutes.
this means i'll be preparing a couple batches of these babies (blueberry and apple-cinnamon) and freezing them for transport to my parents' house for thanksgiving! i'm all about make-ahead, bake-on-demand pie nirvana. #thanksgivingprep #treatsthattravel
