We love flan! If you love it too you will need:

For flan mixture:
(6) eggs
(1) 12 oz can evaporated milk
(1) 8 oz can condensed milk
(1) tbsp vanilla
Optional: (1) 8 oz cream cheese package

For caramel:
(1) cup sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
All ingredients must be at room temperature...blend them together in your blender until well incorporated.

In a medium sauce pan over medium heat pour sugar inside and allow it to melt.

Don't add water or anything..the sugar will caramelize and once it is all gooey pour it into the dessert pan you will bake the flan in.

Coat the bottom evenly.

Pour in the flan mixture and cover your dessert pan with foil completely.
We will be steam cooking. This flan so you will need a larger deep pan to put this in. Pour water inside the basin about halfway up and then place inside the oven on the middle rack. Inside the water filled pan put your dessert pan covered with foil and close the oven door.
Bake for 1 hour and turn off the oven. Allow the flan to cool for 30 minutes before taking it out. Take the dessert pan out only using oven mittens and remove the foil. Allow to cool for another 30 min.
With a soft utensil separate the flan from the pan slowly being careful not to tear the flan. If you used a binder pan separate the flan from the middle portion as well.
You are now ready to the turn the flan into your dessert plate.
You can cool this in your fridge or serve as is! Add some whopping Creme and enjoy with a cup of hot coffee!

The ounces on the cans are an estimate..just use one can of each that is sold at the store.
