Cashew "Cheese" Sauce
Ooey, gooey, stretchy, melty, vegan cheese sauce. The key is tapioca starch.
½ Cup Raw Cashews (soaked & drained)
1 Cup Water
3 Tablespoons + 2 teaspoons Tapioca Starch (also known as Tapioca Flour)
1 Tablespoon Nutritional Yeast
1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
½ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
Blend all ingredients until smooth liquid.
Pour it in a sauce pan, heat, continually stirring, over medium-high heat. It will start to form clumps. Keeping stirring and it will thicken, smooth and stretchy. Taste, adjust seasoning. Serve with pasta, on pizza, as a dip for veggies, as queso with chips, etc ... You get the idea;) #dairyfree & #deeelicious
