Lazy afternoon dessert. Poach pears for 20 to 30 min in water, just enough to cover them, with 4 or 5 tablespoons of sugar and a vanilla pod until soft and water has reduced to at least half the volume. Serve warm with ice cream. I chose chai coconut topped with some almond slivers and a good cortado or espresso.
