Curry up.

As with many foods, Indian cuisine just doesn’t taste quite the same when eaten outside of its place of origin—but the founder of Akka’s has made it his mission to change that. This set of 2 sauces includes a tandoori marinade (a blend of fresh ginger, garlic, lemon juice, and freshly roasted and ground spices, including saffron), and a curry paste is a recipe the founder’s mother would prepare before the family's annual pilgrimage to their ancestral church at a distant village. She would pack the paste and use it to make curry when they arrived.

Use these sauces to marinate chicken, mix them into savory yogurts, or dollop them on just about anything for a distinctive, authentic Indian meal.

Akka's Handcrafted Foods

Akka (a-k’a) means elder sister in Tamil. When founder Lawrence Dass' akka visited in 2008, she made a delicious Meyer lemon Indian pickle. It gained instant popularity amongst their friends, including those who were unfamiliar with Indian cooking. So after the positive feedback about the lemon pickle, they decided to expand their culinary creations to making chutneys with fresh fruits and vegetables, simmer sauces, and mixes.
