This teapot (c. 1850) has been meticulously restored and polished to a high gleam by Coppermill Kitchen. It is equal parts sophisticated and minimal, distinguished by a hand-cut heavy pink brass handle attached to the pot by rare flanges, a tiered lid (with a hand-cut brass finial!) that opens on a hinge, and a gooseneck spout. The words “4 Gill” or "Gill 5"—its volume measurement—and the trademark for its maker, William Soutter & Sons, are impressed on the teapot’s underside. The maker was based in Birmingham, England, and was well known for their kettles. Put the kettle on (or set it out wherever your decor needs a little shine) and see for yourself!
