In 2007, Baskauta owner Amy was developing a history kit for the Kentucky Museum at Western Kentucky University and needed a sturdy Cherokee-style twilled basket. After a basket-weaving class with respected folk artist Beth Hester, Amy was hooked—and has been making and selling beautiful woven pieces since.
