Vintage Copper Bellied Saucepan, Mid 19th Century
Portly and polished.
This pot bellied saucepan has a dome shaped lid, hand cut copper strap lid handle, a steel tubular handle, and a seamed base. Crafted in England (c. 1850), the tubular handle was likely made hollow to accommodate a wooden handle that would fit inside, creating a long handle ideal for cooking over an open hearth without getting too close the flame.
