Don’t let the Brutalist concrete—in black, white, and charcoal, to boot—fool you; these trivets from Brooklyn and Columbus, Ohio–based brand Areaware work hard to bring warmth and coziness to your table. (Okay, maybe they don’t “work” as much as they withstand—lots and lots of heat.) One trivet for a kettle, two for a loaf pan, three for a cast-iron skillet; it works well on a team, but just as good on its own enigmatic (er, maze-like) self.
